Equipment can be split into two categories: weapons and armor.

Equipping a weapon will increase your Attack rating.

There are four types of armor: shields, helms, gloves, and body armor.

Any armor you wear on your body, including armlets, is classified as body armor.

Shields are held in one hand, while helms are worn on the head.

Remember that the weapons and armor you find won't do you any good unless you equip them from the main menu.

Selecting "Optimal" will automatically equip the strongest weapons and armor in your inventory.
装備は「武器」と「防具」に
分かれているのじゃ。

「武器」を装備すると、
攻撃力を上げることができるぞ。

「防具」には、
「鎧」「盾」「兜」「小手」の
４種類がある。

体に着るものや腕輪が
「鎧」にあたるのじゃ。

手に入れた「武器」や「防具」は、
メニューで装備しないと
意味がないから気をつけるのじゃぞ。

メニューで「最強」を選ぶと、
持っている装備の中から
自動的にいちばん強いものを装備できるぞ。

There are two schools of magic: black and white.

White magic is comprised of healing and defensive spells, while black magic spells are of the offensive variety.

Each level of black and white magic contains four distinct spells.

However, any given character can only learn three of the four spells of a particular magic level.

You can use the "Forget" command to wipe your memory of any spell you've previously learned.

If you want to relearn a spell you've previously forgotten, you can do that, too.

Try to choose a combination of spells that works well with your fighting style.
魔法は「白魔法」と「黒魔法」に
分けられておる。

「白魔法」は回復や防御、
「黒魔法」は攻撃の効果を
持つものが多い。

「白魔法」と「黒魔法」は、
それぞれのＬＶに対して４つずつ存在する。

ただし、覚えることができるのは
その中の３つまでだ。

覚えた魔法は、
「わすれる」コマンドを使って
忘れることもできる。

忘れてしまった魔法は
覚えなおすこともできるぞ。

自分の戦い方を考えて
組みあわせを考えるといいだろう。

Stocking up on items in advance will help you conserve your magic for the times you need it most.

Now let's move on to sleeping bags, tents, and cottages, shall we?

These three splendid items allow you to restore your HP and MP. You can only use them outdoors, though.

In addition to these traditional items, certain pieces of equipment may be used as items as well.

The only way to know if a given piece of equipment has a use is to try it out, so experimentation is key.

In the course of your travels, you will come across unique items that are known as "key items."

Some key items have an effect when used in a specific location.
「ポーション」や「毒消し」は、
たくさん持っていてそんはないぞ。

いつも多めに買っておいたほうが
魔法の節約にもなる。

次は、「寝袋」「テント」
「コテージ」じゃ！

この３つはフィールドで使うと
ＨＰ回復とＭＰ回復ができる
すぐれものじゃ。

また「装備」にも、アイテムとして
使うことができるものもあるのじゃ。

効果があるかどうかは、
いろいろ試してみることじゃな。

アイテムには、この他に旅の途中でもらう
『大事なもの』がある。

『大事なもの』の中には、
重要な場所で使うと
効果が出るものもあるぞ。

There are many types of monsters, and different types have different weaknesses.

Finding a monster's weakness will help you gain the upper hand in battle.

For example, aquatic monsters are susceptible to lightning.

Casting Thunder on these monsters will deal particularly heavy damage.

Some weapons are also more effective against certain monsters.
魔物にはいろいろな種類がいて、
それぞれに弱点がある…。

弱点を見つけることで
有利な戦いができるだろう…。

たとえば、水辺の魔物は雷に弱い…。

The crystals that once, long ago, held a light that shone so brilliantly.

The time for their journey had come.

The time to cast off the veil of darkness and bring the world once more into light...
かくして…
探求の旅は始まった。

４人の若者は光の戦士として、

自らに与えられた使命の大きさと、
待ち受けるであろう波乱の運命に、
めまいさえおぼえるのであった。

大いなる輝きが宿っていたという。
